The Hair X-perience postponed to 30 & 31 May 2021

GORINCHEM – The hairdressing event The Hair X-perience that was planned on the 30th and 31st of August 2020 will be postponed to the 30th and 31st of May 2021. The reason for this relocation is because of COVID-19. Due to the measures imposed by the Dutch government, it has become impossible to organize The Hair X-perience in August this year. The only complete hairdressing event in the Netherlands was initially planned on June 7th and 8th 2020, but is now moving to the last weekend of May next year.

“We are following the measures taken by the Dutch government. Unfortunately, that means that The Hair X-perience cannot take place at the end of August. It is a huge disappointment for us, but also for our community who have been looking forward to this event”, says Corine Visser, Event Manager of The Hair X-perience. In any case, the new event date will allow us to serve our community better after an uncertain period. Resulting in a wider range of suppliers and plenty of (positive) inspiration based on the latest trends.”

In the upcoming period, exhibition organiser Easyfairs intends to set up a plan to make its events corona-proof from September onwards. Visser: “We assume that the 1.5-metre society will remain the norm for the time being. This has major consequences for the way in which we organize trade fairs and events. First and foremost, we want our events to be safe and having everyone feeling safe. Therefore, we are developing various protocols to enable our trade fairs to continue in a responsible way. For instance, we are looking into the possibilities for so-called ‘time slots’ for visitors. This would mean that visitors would register for a certain time slot, whereby we might extend the opening hours if necessary and if possible.  The advantage of these time slots is that everyone has enough time and space to do their shopping and networking in a safe way and having a conversation with each other.”

With the use of the Smart Badge, we can also ensure the 1.5 metre distance. Upon entry, every visitor receives a badge with a special chip integrated: the Smart Badge. The Smart Badge gives the visitor the opportunity to scan exhibitor stands or experiences of their field of interest. After the event, the visitor receives all the scanned information and the scanned exhibitors in their inbox; safe and online! Easyfairs already uses this tool and would be introduced at The Hair X-perience this year. “The use of this tool has proven to be successful and the added value will increase looking at the current 1.5-metre society. If it turns out that in May 2021 adjustments will still be necessary because of COVID-19, we will definitely look closely at The Hair X-perience and implement new measures”, says Visser.
